My degree is in chemistry with a minor in math. I love chemistry, it’s the smallest you can go without falling into really weird math. I love stitches too, but so far I haven’t tried dying yarn or spinning it. I used spreadsheets for the first time in the early ’90’s entering data for Theodore Taylor (inventor of the suitcase bomb) for his
arguments against the siting of a nuclear waste dump. Since then I’ve balanced my check book and graded patterns with spread sheets, it’s not quite as exciting, but there is a lot less typing. My patterns explore stitch tweaks, interesting constructions and projects that call to me.
